Textile Origami Workshop

Guild member Kris Berg taught a textile origami workshop on March 16th. Students learned how to mark and hand stitch fabric to create one of several pleating designs.

Kris' daughter, chef Maggie, served a delicious lunch.

Guild meeting on March 11

 On March 11, guild member Jane Pearlmutter presented our program. She shared her adventures about a recent visit to France, focusing on hand embroidery and shopping the markets for vintage textiles. The group also visited  a small village near the chateau where the 14 members of the group stayed. Then they were off to Versailles and Paris to search out treasures of thread/notions/needlework stores and shopping at one of the flea markets.

During Show and Tell, Karen Miller displayed some of her newest Katazome pieces that will be on display at the Portland Japanese Garden, opening on March 29th.
