Guild Meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2026

After a two-month winter break, we resumed our monthly meetings with a large turnout at C3. Our guest speaker, Jessica Hougen shared her knitting adventures with us. Being an avid knitter, she thought often of owning a yarn shop. The stars aligned when some funds became available at the same time that a space was available in downtown Corvallis. Opening in December, 2025, the Lonely Skein offers a lovely selection of yarns, most of which are sourced from small independent businesses.

We enjoyed circulating the yarn examples Jessica shared with us, ending up in Mary's lap.

Jessica is the Executive Director of both the Corvallis and Philomath museums. She shared some exciting events coming up at the Corvallis Museum. Check out:

We concluded out meeting with Show and Tell. There were many terrific projects shared, but only a few were captured for the blog. Linda completed the crazy quilt top for a client, now ready for quilting. Linda added lots of the customary embroidery typical of crazy quilts.

Cheryl renovated a sweater with needle felted vines, enhancing it beautifully.

Mary took a 4 day workshop in Minneapolis from a Swedish weaving instructor. Two days were spent weaving and the subsequent two days were used to build the backpack.

Gwen brought a quilt she created from pieces of recycled cashmere sweaters. Heavenly to touch and even better to sleep under one of her bed quilts. Note the hand quilting.

It's great to be back to monthly meetings, second Tuesday from March through December.
